Old Mutual Fund Managers The Client Old Mutual Fund Managers (OMFM) offers a range of unit trusts, OEICs, ISAs and PEP transfers. The fund range invests across the world's equity and bond markets. The investment manager of these funds is Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) (OMAM), a specialist investment boutique backed by Old Mutual plc, a FTSE 100 company. The Project The design agency, StudioCinna, is the author of the first online presence and design solutions for the Old Mutual Fund Managers Web site, which accommodates a content management system, allows for future expansion and complements the 'look and feel' of the newly produced print collateral and advertising campaigns. The online solution, designed by StudioCinna, successfully achieves the project's aim by reflecting the reliability of the established South African brand to a UK market and global audience in a tone that is fresh, innovative and professional while welcoming investors to an environment that supports usability guidelines, product awareness, information and sales. Entering the project during the strategic phase, StudioCinna created a series of iterative design trials, exploring concepts, solutions and design directions, which established the big picture, set the design language which enables all the visual elements to work together harmoniously and successfully communicated creative ideas back to the client. Drawing from nearly two decades of professional experience gained from working on global Fortune 500 accounts for the major advertising agencies in the USA and Europe and adapting these same valuable skills toward pitching and developing Web sites since the inception of the Web, StudioCinna was able to offer advice and deliver innovative solutions to an Internet agency, which assumed the role of intermediary during the design phase of the project. StudioCinna's online solution entailed design and development of the page templates for the public site and the password protected intermediaries site and the design of navigational system. The layout and design of the templates accommodate for the frequent updates of information on the home page, the daily updating of stock market indices, fund prices and twice weekly market reports, monthly front-page tie-ins with advertising campaigns, market reports, news and press clippings and updates on funds and products. The two sites entailed the design and layout of a main home page and an intermediaries entry page, fifteen section fronts, three product pages for ISA, Pep Transfers and Unit trust and pages listing funds available, key features, client information and application forms for each product with PDF documents available for download, twenty-four funds pages, a quick guide to investing through PEP or ISA, a layer of detailed information sheets, a list, page and searchable archive section, terms and conditions screens and the design and format of the forms, registration, password and confirmation screens within the database systems. The Results StudioCinna delivered on time and within budget the series of page templates for the entire Web site adhering to the accessibility and usability W3C standards which established the boilerplate formula for the site to be published through a content management system database and easily accommodate future expansion. The online design solution and interactive Flash promotional ads, authored and creative directed by StudioCinna, demonstrates a consistent design language throughout, establishes an impressive online brand presence and successfully achieves the client's aims by delivering a high-end Web site design which strategically positions Old Mutual Fund Managers among UK investors, intermediaries and IFAs while incorporating product and fund information, daily prices, market reports, current advertising and marketing campaigns. |
