Allsop & Co. The Client Allsop & Co. is a firm of independent property consultants, established in 1906, which provides a comprehensive commercial and residential range of services. They are best known, however, as the UK's largest most successful auction house. The Project The design agency, StudioCinna, is the author of the Allsop & Co. Web site design solution, which successfully achieve the client's aims, reflects the brand values of professionalism, dynamism and approachability with a distinctive high-end design that welcomes site visitors to an environment that supports usability guidelines, accommodates a content management system (CMS) and allows for future expansion. Entering the project during the strategic phase, StudioCinna created a series of iterative design trials, exploring concepts, solutions and design directions, which established the big picture, set the design language which enables all the visual elements to work together harmoniously and successfully communicated creative ideas back to the client. Drawing from nearly two decades of professional experience gained from working on global Fortune 500 accounts for the major advertising agencies in the USA and Europe and adapting these same valuable skills toward pitching and developing Web sites since the inception of the Web, StudioCinna was able to offer advice and deliver innovative solutions to an Internet agency, which assumed the role of intermediary during the design phase of the project. StudioCinna's online solution entailed the creation of a brand logo for Internet usage, the design and development of the page templates for the Web site and the design of a three level navigational interface, which provides the user with an approachable and simple devise to navigate through the large number of business areas within the Web site. The layout and design of the CMS template designs for the Web site entail the considered design and layout of pages comprising of the home page (incorporating the existing ad campaign 'More than meets the eye' and allowing for easy insertion of future campaigns), ten first level section fronts, twenty-seven second level pages and nineteen third level pages and include: a corporate information section, three separate informational property (commercial, residential and international) sections, an auction section which lists commercial, residential, international and historic auction catalogs, information, dates and locations, a financial section, an understanding property section with guides, glossary and FAQ's, a newsroom and searchable archive section with entry, list, and article pages, a commercial, residential and international property search section with entry, property search results and individual property detail pages, the terms and conditions screens and the design and format of the forms, registration, password and confirmation screens within the database systems. The Results StudioCinna delivered on time and within budget the series of page templates for the entire Web site — adhering to the accessibility and usability W3C standards which established the boilerplate formula for the site to be published through a content management system database and easily accommodate future expansion. The Web site design solution, authored and creative directed by StudioCinna, demonstrates a consistent design language throughout, establishes Allsop & Co. first high-end online brand presence and successfully achieves the client's aims by delivering an impressive design solution which effectively demonstrates the wealth of information and services that Allsop & Co. has to offer within the commercial and residential property sector. |
